Folklorama 2015

We have had a very successful 2015 season of the Highland Games here in Manitoba.  Our last one of the season is on August 15 at 12:00pm.  We will be at the Pavilion of Scotland (Glenwood Community Centre – 27 Overton St.).  We will have our Amateurs, Ladies, and Masters Divisions all throwing that day.  The pavilion will open at 4:45…just as we complete the day.  We have T-shirts left for sale that are $20 each.

After the games, come on inside the pavilion and celebrate with us!  We will be very easily spotted, and would love to chat with our fans and supporters.  Don’t forget to check out our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Transcona Piping & Drumming Competition

June 5, 2015 at Kern Park on Whittier Ave. (just off Day St.) the Winnipeg Police Pipe Band will be hosting a competition.  We have been asked to be their guests and do a 2 hour demonstration of the Highland Games.  We gladly accepted this invitation, and are looking forward to a good warm up event prior to the Manitoba Highland Gathering on June 20 in East Selkirk.

We will be on the field from 11am-1pm on June 6th.  Be sure to come on out and say HI!!  We will be allowing some members of the crowd to try some of the implements to see what it feels like to throw these things around for a few hours.  If you are interested in trying some of the weights, you must be wearing appropriate footwear (no sandals), and under MACS supervision.

We will have a booth set-up as well selling our T-sh...

Winnipeg Scottish Fest

Hello all!

This weekend we set our table up at the Winnipeg Scottish Festival held at the Canadinns Polo Park. We got there about 7 am on Saturday and set our table up with some of our weights, a sheaf and a hammer. We spent the day talking to the pipers, dancers and their families promoting our new website, some of our upcoming competitions and demos as well as one of our new main events, the Bomber Alumni Challenge (yet to be named). Just a reminder that we still have a few t-shirts left for sale from last year. I know that we are all excited for this years events and we look forward to seeing you all there.
